Just like your car, a WordPress website requires ongoing maintenance to continue to work effectively.  Our Managed WordPress Solution tunes up your site on a regular basis, as well as provides small enhancements, fixes and help/advice from a WP ninja.

Covered in our Managed WordPress Solution is “a few minutes of help”, about 15 minutes per month (we offer more time per month for clients that require it).  This time can be dedicated to walking you through updating your site, fixing a broken page, implementing Google Analytics, adding a new page etc.  If you have some questions or ideas about your site, we can provide you with some honest answers and feedback.  Can’t figure out how to renew your domain at GoDaddy?  Give us a shout and we will help you figure it out.  Just send us an email or ring us up and we will help you out.

Plugin Updates

Regular Plugin updates keep you site safe from malicious attacks and may add new features.

Theme Updates

WP Core Updates

WP as a website platform, is what we call the WP Core (a bunch of files and database tables) and is responsible for storing all your site content and providing the WP-Admin interface you use for site management.  Updating your WP Core will keep your site secure AND provide new features in your admin.

PHP Updates

PHP is the language and environment that WP is built on, updating the version provides security and performance increases.  Updating from PHP 5.6 to the newest PHP 7.2 provides on average a 3X faster site and it is more stable.  Ensuring your plugins and theme are compatible in advance is important, a sudden PHP version change can break your site – most hosting companies just make the updates and wait for you to notice if something is not working, and recommend you hire a developer to resolve the issue.  We run tests on your site first to ensure it will be compatible, and if it is not (about 20% of sites are not) then we implement updates or custom fixes to provide the comparability.

Site Backups

Daily offsite cloud backups are performed and pre-theme/core/plugin updating. We run a backup to ensure we have a fallback if the updates go astray.

These update-able assets are what make WordPress a great platform and allow your website to stay usable, long into the future, without having to build an entire new site.

Implementing these updates should be done on a regular basis (once a week or once a month depending on the site) and is no quick and easy task.  Additionally these updates can often cause conflicts between plugins and themes, that may require custom fixes or tickets into the plugin/theme developers for resolution.  Running a site backup before these updates are run is crucial, allowing for a quick site restore if one of the updates takes the website offline or causes some sort of havoc.

Our Managed WordPress Solution starts at $99.00 per month and scales up accordingly to your requirements.  If you need the basic plan with the addition of a weekly order export sent to your marketing company, no problem – we just add a few bucks to the basic plan and you are good to go.  We offer our basic plan and allow you to alacart additional items, giving you a true Solution and not a “hosting plan”.
